Joe Conforti, the most decorated lineman in Beaver County over the past two years, has accepted an offer to continue his athletic and
academic careers at Bethany College.
Conforti and Bethany head coach Steve Campos, a New Brighton graduate, have an influential person in common: Joe Hamilton. Conforti
played for Hamilton at Blackhawk, while Campos played for Hamilton at New Brighton.
Conforti considered Allegheny College and Robert Morris and was leaning toward Allegheny until he visited Bethany last weekend.
"I loved everything," he said. "I fit in so well with the guys down there. They're building a program down there, and I want to be part of
it. I really feel like I belong there."
Conforti, who will major in education, is the only lineman in Beaver County to earn first-team all-section recognition on offense and defense
in each of the past two seasons. Bethany intends to use him at nose tackle, and Bethany has told him they would like him to earn playing
time as a freshman.
